The lab opens in a research phase
October 2026
Futures Change Laboratory is launching the way a laboratory should: with the research first.
Our first task is to build a research foundation on distributed work and distributed learning. That means interviews, field notes and small experiments on how work and learning are being spread across places, platforms and schedules, and what people actually do to make that arrangement work.
The foundation will feed a series of upcoming publications on distributed work and distributed learning. Findings will also appear here first, as field notes, before they appear anywhere else.
Our approach is practical. We listen first, test small changes with real teams and learners, and measure what they are worth to the people and organizations involved. Then we share what worked and what did not.
So we are starting by listening. If your work or learning has moved online, hybrid or across time zones, we would like to hear what changed. Interviews take about 45 minutes on Zoom, you are quoted under a pseudonym by default, and you review your quotes before anything is published.
You can register on our research page. We will send the consent information before anything is recorded.
